Elan Jaglom Biography
Switzerland resident Elan Jaglom is an expert in private investments and high technology companies, taking part in high-level positions within companies during his entire career. Most interested in the digital printing sector, he chaired the 3D digital printing company Objet, founded in 1998. He joined the Israel-based industry leader that year, leading as one of the company's primary investors. The company, which offered printing systems and materials internationally, helped its clients lower the cost and time investment of their projects. The world of 3D printing changed in April 2012, as Objet Ltd. and Stratasys Inc., two prominent 3D printing firms, announced their decision to combine forces and merge into a single giant company.
Their materials, printed on high-resolution, thin-layer film, uses more than 60 materials from a variety of brands that can be utilized for nearly any business application in nearly any industry. These fields include dentistry, architecture, toy production, and sporting goods. Consumer products, education, defense, and automotive industries also utilize their products.
Prior to chairing Objet, Jaglom was one of the investors in Idanit Technologies Ltd.'s and served as an executive director in the company’s Board Of Directors. The company, founded in 1996, provided innovative digital printing solutions in wide format using a high-resolution, high-speed printer in a four-color process. Most of their products are banners for buses, taxis and poles, although it also provided customized solutions for customers. The company merged with Scitex Corporation, who was later bought out by Hewlett Packard. The company, with offices in more than 170 countries, explored new technology and worked with companies to develop satisfactory printing solutions.
A strong supporter of higher education, Elan Jaglom helps bring financial aid and grants to those who served with the Israel defense Forces. The international member of the Ben-Gurion University School of Management's advisory board helped establish the school's first MBA program, modelled after Columbia University's. Combining faculty lectures and visits from leading members of various industries.
As a member of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev's Board of Governors, Elan Jaglom assists in the school's efforts to boost its academic performance and serve the Negev, a vast desert area that covers more than half of Israel but lacks sufficient development. Founded in 1969, the school offers classes in the social, health, natural and engineering sciences as well as humanities courses. Also a research campus, the school is the home of the widely renowned Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism. More than 19,000 students are enrolled in the school.
Elan Jaglom, along with his family, are patrons of the arts. Their vast collection of impressionist works from the 19th and 20th centuries is featured in Tel Aviv Museum, where he is a trustee. Jaglom also is a member of the international board of Israel's Diaspora Museum, for which he has assisted in improvement efforts. A donor to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mr. Jaglom is a licensed pilot and enjoys flying small aircraft in his leisure time He also holds an American and European skipper license and enjoys sailing from time to time. In 1964, he graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with degrees in economics and statistics. In 1968, He received his MBA from the New York University.
